January 5, 2010
Happy New Year,
Welcome to the Saratoga Little League (SLL) 2010 season. This year tryouts will be held on Saturday January 23 at Congress Springs Fields. Please make sure you arrive at the check-in desk at least 15 minutes before the tryout time indicated below and be prepared to warm up your child. The check-in desk will be located next to the snack shack. Expect the tryout to last approximately 1 hour. Here is some additional information:
- There is currently no scheduled make up date. So please make every effort to show up. If you have an extreme situation please reply to me.
- Make sure your child wears baseball pants and cleats for the tryouts.
- Any changes in the division your child is designated to try out for must be pre-approved BEFORE the tryout date by the player representative and commissioner(s). You can reply to this email with requests and I will forward them on for resolution.
- This year the managers and coaches will conduct the tryouts. This is a change from prior years when we had volunteers conduct the tryouts. This change was made to help improve the balancing of the teams when it comes time to select players.
- Please note that the actual score your child receives during the tryout is not relevant. Their score relative to other players in their division is what counts. So please don’t worry if they miss a grounder or swing and miss a few times. Everyone does that in January!
I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks and I hope your child has a great experience this year in SLL.
